Warbler Woods is a nature preserve owned by members of the Schaezler Family. The family believes the natural beauty of the preserve should be shared freely with others. Warbler Woods is operated by a charitable foundation of the same name, and that foundation is managed by the Schaezler Family. The foundation charges no admission and relies solely on donations or grants for operational expenses.
However, most of the donations to the foundation are from the family. We provide tractors, implements and fuel; gasoline and electric-powered golf carts and tools; and a wide variety of hand tools. We construct ponds, water features, blinds and roads. We buy tons of bird food each year and the feeders to attract or exclude target populations. We maintain three wells and pay for the electricity to run them. We provide a porta-potti to prevent overwhelming our septic tank and drain field. We pay for labor, repairs, insurance and many incidentals, and we spend a lot of personal time and labor. We DO NOT accept any administrative fees. Ours is a labor of love.
Thankfully, the foundation gets a lot of volunteer labor, materials, bird feed and cash donations, and without that help we could not continue to operate at the current level or at the level we aspire to.
